Our network connects female undergraduates to a social community, professional opportunities and each other. Throughout our mentorship program and community discussions, we are able to foster a sense of belonging and solidarity, creating a strong sisterhood for Rutgers women in tech.
We encourage and promote educational and professional development through various networking events and tech talks. With the continuous support from our alumni, we are able to connect undergraduates with professional women in the industry through our alumni panels.
It is a widely known fact that men far outnumber women in the field of computer science. WiCS was created as a result of this gender gap, to encourage the participation of women in computer science. We provide support and empower our members to overcome barriers and break the glass ceiling.
We organize tours and tech talks at the offices of companies in Manhattan. If your company would like to set up a site visit with us, send us a note.
We welcome any collaborative event, from tech talks to community events! If you would like to sponsor an event on Rutgers's campus to connect students with opportunities at your company, raise awareness about the cool things you're doing, or hold mock interview sessions, let us know.
WiCS hosts a number of academic and social events, including workshops, tech talks and HackHERS. We also try to send as many students as possible to the Grace Hopper Conference. If you are interested in sponsoring an event or providing scholarships to Grace Hopper, definitely get in touch!
If your company has any open job opportunities you would like to broadcast to our members, feel free to shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be sure to include the opportunitiy in our upcoming newsletter.
